John Milstead
John wrote and produced his first project, "Sides of The Soul" in 2009.  He toured over 30 shows with Sister Hazel, opened for BB King and sang on NBC's Today Show.  Out of 12,000 entries, John's songs placed in the top 10 of the NSAI songwriting contest 3 years in a row.  "I had never really considered myself a "writer". I thought of myself as mainly a singer and composer.  The Nashville writing community really sparked my interest-the craft itself-the talent pool here is so deep. There's a good chance the receptionist at a random publishing meeting is more talented than anyone on the radio." John Milstead.  After several years of meetings and finding his way around Music Row, John signed his first publishing deal as a staff writer with Reba Mcentire's company Starstruck in October 2013.  Starstruck is the current management home for Blake Shelton and Kelly Clarkson.  John is currently living in Nashville working on his second album, working with some of the top writers and producers in the world.

"John is a powerhouse of precision vocals", David Kershenbaum, (produced Bryan Adams, Tracy Chapman)

"Incredible melodic instinct-one of the strongest singers I've seen in a long time.  True Artist." Robert Johnson ( writer/producer-Celine Dion, Lynyrd Skynrd)

The Tupelo native has released an album that is pretty much incredible, especially from a "new"artist that writes, produces, and performs all of their material.  Milstead has what some call an "old soul". - Chuck Dauphin, Music News Nashville-

He was a winner of the 9th and 10th  Annual CMT NSAI contest for his song, “Don’t Believe in Love;” a top 10 finalist at Atlanta’s Eddie’s Attic singer/songwriter competition in July 2009 and November 2009; and he was’s 2009 vocalist feature.  John also performed at Bluebird Cafe's 30th anniversary here in Nashville on June 9th, 2012. In 2011 he toured with Ingram Hill, Sister Hazel, and The Benjy Davis Project.  He joined Tony Lucca (The Voice) and other artists at this years Hotel Carolina Festival.

"An Easy Goodbye” is a soulful rock ballad, which provides an excellent showcase for Milsteads strong, expressive vocals. His vocals impressively combine the blues/rock style of Paul Rodgers (of Bad Company & Free), with the classic soul sound of Sam Cooke.”- album "Sides of the Soul"

" Im currently working on a new project.  If I had to put a label on it it would be Ray Lamontagne and Amos Lee meet One Republic and David Nail"
